February is nearly over and it’s time again for my monthly favorite product of the month. Since January’s favorite was a skin care product, I decided to pick a makeup favorite this month. I don’t just pick any random product as my favorite, I make sure I choose a product that I have been using regularly for at least a month and something which I highly recommend to people.
The Illamsqua Intense lipglosses are just divine. I usually don’t go for sheer lipglosses, as I love to have intense color on my lips. These lipglosses are very pigmented. If you like bright colors, then definitely go for these. They are a combination of lipstick and lipgloss (strong color and lipgloss shine). I also adore the applicator, different from other lipglosses.
I love all the colors they have but these are the three I went for, aren’t they gorgeous?
Each costs AED 100. Illamsqua is sold in Bloomingdales and Areej stores.
I associate the Amouage brand (from Oman) as something really luxurious and special as it is quite pricey. I always felt that most of their scents are something that my mom would like and too strong for me. My sister told me how much she liked the Amouage Lyric fragrance and how it was more suited to us younger women.
Thankfully, I got the Amouage Lyric body cream as one of my wedding presents from my lovely twin sister, and I must say I have been addicted ever since. The scent is not too overpowering, smells ‘powdery’ which I love and is very long lasting. The Amouage website describes Lyric as a ‘floral oriental fragrance’ which is ‘inspired by the rose’. If you are into luxurious and long lasting body creams, then you must try Amouage Lyric. It smells heavenly.
I know it’s been too long since I wrote my last post but it’s a busy life now being a wife and settling down in my new home. Well I am back now and ready to talk ‘makeup’.I have always preferred using tinted moisturizers rather than foundation. I find foundation too heavy on my skin and only use it for weddings and parties. I used to use just pressed powder on my face, but have become more interested in tinted moisturizers as it gives slightly more coverage.
After doing a lot of research online (makeup alley, beauty blogs), I decided to try out the Shiseido Tinted Moisturizer. It also won the Best of Beauty 2009 Award from Allure. Let’s just say this product is so not for me. I have got oily combination skin and my T-Zone tends to get oily after a few hours (especially at work), hence I prefer something light, and that won’t leave me in an oily mess (GROSS!). Unfortunately, this TM did just that. It felt so heavy and caked up on my skin for some reason. This product isn’t cheap and it’s such a waste because I have barely used it. It could work better on someone with dry skin though.
I then decided to buy the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer. Laura Mercier is not available in Dubai so I picked this up when I was on holiday in Malaysia. Again, I have heard lots of good things about Laura Mercier, especially their tinted moisturizer so I decided to give this one a try. Three words- I LOVE IT!!! It feels light, doesn’t make me too oily, and is hydrating enough. This has been voted the Best 2011 Tinted Moisturizer by Instyle and is a definite winner in my books. Too bad Laura Mercier isn’t available in Dubai, I think they have great products.
Anyone recommend any other alternative for a tinted moisturizer?
My wifi is finally connected in my new home and I am so excited to start blogging again as it has been so long.
I have decided to choose my favorite product (skincare or makeup) every month and tell you all about it. For the month of January, I have LOVED using the Boots Botanics Foot Butter. This product is absolutely amazing. I have been slathering this all over my feet every night and it makes my feet so soft and smooth. I also love the scent, it kind of smells minty.
I have been loving all the Botanics range of products so far and I am equally impressed by this foot butter. I will definitely repurchase.
Has anyone tried this?
