Product Review: Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner

Hi my lovely readers!

While browsing through a store selling drugstore makeup in Oman (spent a weekend there with my sister), we came across the Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner. We immediately picked one up after reading lots of reviews on beauty blogs, comparing it to the Bobbi Brown gel liners. I bought the brown one and my sister the black one.

What I immediately loved about this eyeliner is the fact that it comes with a brush. I usually use a Bobbi Brown angled brush or a Smashbox eyeliner brush to apply my gel liners. This Maybelline brush is more flat and applies thicker on the lids which is fine with me. I wore this eyeliner on my lids for 8 hours straight and without a primer underneath and there was no smudging or fading. It is creamy and applies like a dream. It is not as thick in consistency as the Bobbi Brown gel eyeliners so you need to keep dipping the brush into the pot in order to finish applying the eyeliner.

If you are looking for a perfect gel eyeliner that does not cost a bomb (like the Bobbi Brown ones), then these are perfect. They just cost around 50 Dhs and are available in Brown, Blackest Black, Charcoal and Eggplant.

Have you tried this eyeliner? What do you think?

  1. I’v tried this product for a year
The brush is awful I never use it, its not for thin liner application and fine lines
I had certainly didn’t face any problem with the gel liner it self
Expect that I have to layer it to get the wanted black jet shade
    Thnx for sharing thing naythar

    • Thanks for your comment ghadeer:) you are totally right about the brush. I usually like thick eyeliner but if I need a thin line, will definitely have to use an alternative brush.
