I went on a shopping spree a few days back with my sister who is visiting (something we do each time she visits Dubai), and we went to our favorite mall ‘The Dubai Mall’. We were actually shopping for some makeup, but I happened to pass by a store called Stella Luna.
You know how sometimes you spot something so perfect and say ‘OMG, those are my dream shoes (or handbag, dress, etc.). That’s exactly what happened to me. I saw the PERFECT nude shoes and the best part? It came in my size, which is so rare to find in Dubai (I wear a tiny size 35).
These are the priciest shoes I currently own, even more expensive than my wedding shoes, but they are so worth it, and I don’t mind treating myself once in a while.
I know it has been so long since my last post, but it is just so difficult having a full-time job plus a husband and home to take care of. I am just too exhausted to blog at the end of the day. Weekends are usually the only time when I have time to sit down and relax. I am starting to think , how will it be once we have kids?
Anyways, I had the best weekend ever. My sister and her husband were visiting Dubai from Oman and yesterday, we (along with 2 cousins and their husbands) all went out to Caramel (a restaurant and lounge) for dinner. This was the perfect time to dress up and put lots of makeup:).
Hope you like my outfit. It is a bit understated compared to what I usually wear for nights out but I loved it, especially the assymetrical skirt, which was given to me by my lovely sister.
What I wore: Skirt- Forever 21, basic black top (really old, must be from Zara), shoes- Steve Madden, turquoise jewellery- Global Village, clutch bag- Mango (really old too).
SPF is one of the most important parts of my skincare routine especially because of the blazing heat we experience here in Dubai. I absolutely cannot leave the house without spf, as my skin is so sensitive and prone to redness if exposed to direct sunlight.
I have tried a lot of spf creams / lotions and they all make my skin oily, leave a white cast and do not stop the redness. One product that does not do this to my skin is the Kiehl’s Super Fluid UV Defense SPF 50+. This is my absolute favorite product. I have been using it for about a year now and I recommend it to everyone. What I love best about it is that it is oil-free, and so light weight, and the high SPF is an added bonus, perfect for the heat in Dubai.
I apply this every morning before I leave for work, and then again in the afternoon around 1 or 2 pm. I use this on top of my daily day moisturiser, even if it already contains spf.
Do any of you use this product? What are your opinions? Any other recommendations?
I found out about a special offer that Clarins was having in Bloomingdale’s (my absolute fave store for skincare and makeup), and I decided to go and buy a few things that I needed.
By spending a minimum of Dhs 450, you get a beach bag with 6 trial size products. I actually needed these items I bought and I did not go and spend on a whim just because of the offer.
L-R: Clarins Instant Liner (Black), Clarins Concealer Stick, Clarins Fix’ Make-Up, Clarins Toning Lotion with Iris
The free beach bag with trial sized products
Have you tried any of the products that I bought? The Fix’ Make-up spray was a last minute purchase, but it’s got amazing reviews on makeupalley so I am glad I picked it up.
I will do reviews on these products as soon as I start using them.
Have a great weekend xx
I’m so glad the weekend is finally here. I had quite an eventful week. I got a really bad reaction to a vaccine I had, so I had to stay home from work for 2 days. I am so glad I am ok now. I also went for a job interview which went extremely well, although I don’t think I would take the job (if I got it) due to how long the commute would be.
Anyways, I won’t bore you guys anymore. Today I wore something casual as I was just going to have dinner with my family. My husband and I also dropped by the mall as I needed a few things from my favourite store, Bloomingdales .
I love this neon striped T-shirt. It is so comfortable yet so trendy for the summer. The humidity is unbelievable here in Dubai so I love wearing something loose and airy. I usually wear flats when I go to the mall, especially Dubai Mall which is HUGE.
Top- Shana, Jeans- River Island, Shoes- Vincci, Bag-Topshop
Bracelets and ring- ASOS
Hi my darling friends!
Hope you all had a lovely weekend. I watched The Avengers on 3D with my husband this weekend. Who all watched it? It was a fab movie and we totally enjoyed it.
This weekend, I was in search for a liquid eyeliner as I only own gel eyeliners. I find it difficult to use a gel eyeliner in the mornings before going to work, because I take longer using a brush to apply the eyeliner, and I also like to clean my eyeliner brush before putting it back in its place. Since I am short of time in the mornings, I wanted something that was easier to apply.
I visited the Illamsqua stand in search for black liquid eyeliner but they were out of stock. The salesman (yes it was a man, and I seemed to know more about makeup than he did) showed me the Illamsqua Precision Ink in Havoc. This is a gorgeous burgundy colored eyeliner. The Illamasqua website describes it as an ‘aubergine’ colored eyeliner. To me, it is a reddish black color that it totally wearable.
I love this, it is so easy to apply, and once it dries, it doesn’t budge. I had it on from 7 am to around 5 pm. It is also easy to remove. I just used a normal makeup wipe and I did not have to scrub it hard to get it off which is a plus. I definitely want to get the same eyeliner in black.
This costs AED 100 and I bought it from Areej.
Any other liquid eyeliners that you recommend?
Sorry for the blurry picture
I just thought it would be interesting to do a post on my hair care routine so here it is:)
I have long, thick and wavy hair and these are the products I use.
Tresemme Shampoo and Conditioner– I don’t use a high end shampoo and conditioner because I have pretty healthy hair . I have never colored my hair and I only blow dry for parties or weddings
(which is rare). I always leave my hair to air dry. I have been using Tresemme for about 2 years now and I love it.
Moroccan Oil treatment and Moroccan Oil hydrating hair mask– I use the mask twice a week. I LOVE the smell of these 2 products. These 2 products keep my hair soft, shiny and smooth.
Belle Femme Herbal Hair Oil (for those living in Dubai, it is sold in Belle Femme Salon)– I like to massage my head with any hair oil 2 hours before washing my hair. I bought this oil a few weeks ago after I heard good things about it. If not this, I make my own mixture of oils using castor, olive and coconut oil which is amazing for the hair.
So these are the products I use on my hair. Do you have any other recommendations for amazing hair products?
If you have done a similar post on your hair care routine, please provide the link to your post on the comments section as I would love to know what you guys use.
