Best hair mask for highly processed hair

Hello my dear friends!  I am trying to do more blog posts now,  as I have so much to share with you all. It just gets a bit challenging sometimes juggling a full-time job along with looking after a toddler and a baby (and a husband) ūüėĀ.

Anyhow, as much as skincare, I love trying out hair products and using products that maintain my thick and long wavy hair. On a whim, I once bought the Davines nounou hair mask. I was really attracted to the fuss-free plastic packaging (although it doesn’t travel well as it reached me with the side broken). It is described as “a nourishing, repairing mask for highly processed or brittle hair”.

I usually buy a shampoo, conditioner and hair mask from the same brand, but since I had enough shampoos and conditioners to last me a while, I thought I should just buy the hair mask. Davines is described as a brand that uses only natural ingredients. My hair is generally in a good condition as I rarely use any heat or styling tools. I always air dry it. Lately however, I felt my hair requires a little more TLC as I get my roots colored once every month and occasionally get all my hair colored. Whenever my hair feels meh, I apply this mask after shampooing and leave it on for about 5 to 7 min (that is all the free time I can manage before one of the kids start noticing that I’m gone). This mask immediately transforms my hair into smooth, soft, easy to handle luscious locks. The Davines nounou mask smells amazing and my hair feels so much healthier and shinier.

I definitely recommend it for those with chemically treated,  dry or damaged hair and it would be best to leave it on for at least 15 min.

I ordered mine from Cult Beauty and it costs ¬£18.50 for 250ml of product. Do any of you use Davines products? What are your favorite hair masks?

Best of 2014

2014 was an excellent year in terms of skincare discoveries, mostly because of my skincare guru Caroline Hirons. I tried practically everything she recommended and loved everything. I also visited London in April where I went quite overboard in Space NK, Selfridge’s and Boots.

1- In terms of haircare this year, I tried 2 brands- Rahua and Oribe Shampoos and Conditioners. Of the two, my hair definitely loved Oribe better. It’s extremely luxurious, leaves the hair smelling amazing and feeling so soft and bouncy. The packaging is also quite pretty. My husband actually thought the shampoo was a bottle of perfume.

2- Frank Coffee Scrub- this is a natural coffee scrub that I discovered online and boy am I glad I did. This stuff is sooo amazing, I can’t get enough. It can be used on the face and body and seriously leaves my skin so extremely smooth and silky. The best part about it? It is so cheap at USD 14.95 and can be ordered online through their website .

3. Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm- this is a cult product loved by Caroline Hirons which in turn is loved by all skincare fanatics like me and I totally understand why. This has completely changed the meaning of cleansing. This is so expensive but I would definitely repurchase when mine is over as it is worth the splurge.

4- May Lindstrom skincare- another natural skincare brand that I am so glad I have discovered is May Lindstrom. They are extremely expensive so I just bought a few of her products for now.

5- Wayne Goss face brush set- I have no idea how I survived without these brushes previously. These are my go to brushes at the moment and I really need to invest in the eye set as well. Besides, I love Wayne Goss:)

6- Su-man rehydrating toning essence- its very rare to find a toner that does not leave the skin feeling stripped and this is one of them. I love the glass packaging, and it leaves the skin feeling refreshed and hydrated.

7- Gosh Cosmetics- Amazing drugstore find. I love their lip lacquers that look like little nail polishes. Their eye pencils and eye-shadow sticks are amazing too. The best product in my opinion is the Boombastic mascara which so easily rivals the high end mascaras out there for a small fraction of the price.

8- Charlotte Tilbury- I can’t praise Charlotte Tilbury makeup enough. I mean this lady does no wrong in terms of makeup from her blushes to lipsticks and eye pencils. I can’t get enough. If you haven’t tried any of her products- what are you waiting for?

9- Tom Ford brow sculptor- this is one product that I cannot live without at the moment. It makes my brows look so natural and it is so easy to use and lasts very long even with everyday use.

What have been your favourite products in 2014? Please let me know in the comments:)

The Best of 2013

Hi friends, 2013 just flew by so fast its unbelievable. Personally, it has been one heck of a year and has brought the biggest change of my life. I gave birth to our beautiful baby boy and I have been busy trying to adjust and learn everything from scratch.

I plan to definitely do more frequent posts in 2014 as I am slowly settling into a routine.

On to my favorite discoveries for 2013. I have picked very few products that have really stood out for me and that I am so glad I have discovered.

Foreo Luna- This is probably the best discovery for me as it has totally transformed my skin. It now feels cleaner and more healthy looking as I feel it truly makes sure all the day’s dirt is gotten rid of. (my detailed review-¬†¬†)

Chanel Le Jour / La Nuit / Le Weekend- This Chanel’s newest skincare line was probably the most talked about / anticipated. It is quite pricey (as with all Chanel products) but I decided to take the plunge anyway and I am so glad I did. My skin has never looked better and I can easily have totally makeup free days and still look fresh and glowy.

Chanel CC Cream- This was an impulse buy but again, I am so glad I took the plunge as I have been using it every single day ever since I bought it. It subtly evens out the skin and does not feel like you have makeup on. It looks so natural and most of the time, this is the only product I have on my face.

Nars Guy Bourdin One Night Stand Palette- 6 Nars blushes in one palette? What more could anyone want? Once I found out about this palette, I did everything I could to get my hands on it as it was sold out everywhere. Thanks to Shopper Doll (@Shopper_Doll on Instagram), I was able to get my hands on this beauty.

Urban Decay Naked 3- Its ‘Naked 3’ enough said!! It’s a perfect addition to my makeup stash. The colors are gorgeous and unlike anything that I own.

Tangle Teezer- I don’t know what took me so long to buy this but I finally bought it and now can’t go a day without using it. I had to deal with very bad hair loss post pregnancy and giving birth, but this really minimizes hair fall as it does not pull the hair. I also love using this to comb my hair soon after washing.

Charlotte Tilbury- How amazing is her makeup and skincare line? I have a few of her makeup products as well as the Magic Cream. I love everything and planning to buy more of her makeup. They are extremely high quality and come in awesome packaging.

What are your favorite discoveries for 2013? Please share them with me xx

(P.S.- please excuse me for taking all the pictures (except for Foreo) off the Internet, because I don’t have any of the products with me at the moment as we are staying at my parents home for a little while).

Kerastase Elixir Ultime Sublime Cleansing Oil Shampoo and Hair Masque – Review

Hi everybody. I recently went for a haircut and was talked into buying the new shampoo and masque from Kerastase- the Elixir Ultime range.¬†Since I already love the Elixir Ultime hair serum, I was easily convinced to buy these. Since they are quite expensive and luxurious, I just use them once a week- I use my L’Oreal Professionel shampoo and conditioner on other days.

My verdict? The Kerastase Elixir Ultime Shampoo and Masque are AHMAAAAZING. It seriously leaves my hair so ridiculously soft and silky and my hair looks like those shampoo ads on TV.
The shampoo does not lather much (which does not really bother me much). The masque feels so luxurious and a little goes a long way. I avoid applying on my roots and concentrate more on the ends, leave it on for about 5 to 10 min then rinse it off. They also smell so amazing. Since they are oil based, they do not weigh the hair down and do not make my scalp feel oily at all.

Has anybody tried this? Do you love it as much as I do?

My first empties post

Hi everyone! So I am really excited to be writing my first empties post and to share with you what products I have completely used up.

Kiehls Ultra Facial Moisturizer: I used this as my night time moisturizer because it is slightly thick. This can also be used by men.
Would I repurchase? Definitely

Bath and Body Works Hand Cream: Only drawback is that these hand creams finish so quickly.
Would I repurchase? I already have but I keep trying out new scents.

Bioderma makeup remover: This is my HG makeup remover.
Would I repurchase? Already have

Bath and Body Works shower gel: I love their shower gels and it is the only thing I use.
Would I repurchase? Already have, in different scents.

Lush American Cream Conditioner: This is amazing and I use it with my Lush solid shampoo. It leaves my hair smelling wonderful.
Would I repurchase? Already have, in the bigger size.

Boots Botanics Organic Face Rosewater Toner: This is my second bottle. I really liked it but I stopped using it as it contains alcohol.
Would I repurchase? No, I have replaced it with a Clarins alcohol-free toner.

Amouage Body Cream in Lyric: I LOVE the scent of this. It is so luxurious and long lasting.
Would I repurchase? Yes, I want to buy the Lyric perfume as well.

Hope you guys enjoyed this post. Have you tried any of these products?

Favorite Product of the month- June

It’s time again for my favorite product of the month June. This time it is a hair product. I have read such good reviews about Lush solid¬†shampoos¬†and all Lush products in general, that I couldn’t resist stopping by a Lush store to take a look at what they have.

I already have a pretty good hair routine, but I thought what the heck, I don’t mind trying something new. I picked out the solid shampoo in Cinammon which I was told was good for hairfall. I was also told by the Lush SA that I shouldn’t use this shampoo without conditioner as it could be drying, so I also bought the American Cream conditioner.

I have been using these 2 products for about a month now, and I seriously LOVE them and am addicted. It takes getting used to, using a solid shampoo but after using it about two times I got the hang of it. The cinnamon solid shampoo smells AMAZING. I just wet it and run it through the length of my hair about 3 or 4 times and it does an excellent job of leaving my hair squeaky clean. I store my shampoo in a Lush shampoo bar tin, which keeps my shampoo dry (I make sure I leave the shampoo bar out to dry, before I put it into the tin, to avoid it from melting).

The American Cream conditioner is not as thick in consistency as my other conditioners, but it does the job. What I love the most about it is the scent it leaves on my hair even 2 days after washing which is great.

I will definitely repurchase the shampoo bar once I finish this (I was told it takes about 3 months to run out). It leaves my hair soft, smooth and silky and I am all for using more natural products for my hair. I love the conditioner solely for the smell, but I believe any other conditioner can do the job.

Has anyone tried these products? What other Lush products do you recommend?
