Tarte Cosmetics was always a brand I was interested in but they never stocked the brand in Dubai or offer international delivery from their website. Sephora in Dubai just started selling Tarte a couple of months ago although ironically their website now offers international shipping too.
Anyhow, the first Tarte product I decided to purchase is the BB tinted treatment primer. A couple of things attracted me to this. Firstly, it is a BB cream which I prefer to use instead of foundation. It is also a primer and the major plus point is that it contains SPF30, and lists zinc oxide as one of its active ingredients. What’s not to love?
The texture of this BB cream is powdery when applied. It has light to medium coverage which is buildable. I usually apply it with a buffing brush or even with my fingers at times. I just need a light layer, and it immediately covers any redness and gives me an even skin tone. It is quite matte and does not really need a powder on top. Skin looks smoother, pores disappear, and since it is also a primer, it leaves my skin oil- free for about 8 hours at least.
This would work best on normal /combination or even oily skin. Also, the zinc-oxide is known for healing the skin and getting rid of blemishes. What more can one ask for?
Hi friends, it’s been months since I reviewed a product so here goes…
In terms of makeup, the moment I reach out for a particular product every single day, then I know this is it!! I love it and it is worth blogging about and telling people about it.
The product in question this time is the Gosh Contour N’ Strobe Kit in the shade Medium . Anyone who knows me well, knows that my favorite contour palette is the one from Charlotte Tilbury and I haven’t found a good enough replacement until now.
Gosh is a drugstore brand and none of its products have disappointed me yet. The darker contour shade in this palette is seriously the BOMB! It is heavily pigmented, blends easily and gives a contour that is on FLEEK. I’m obsessed. The blush shade is also quite pretty and gives a natural glow.
Only gripe with this palette is the highlighter shade. It is quite a pretty color but quite difficult to get any product on my brush for some reason.
All in all, if you are new to contouring and want something that is reasonably priced, then definitely go for this.
Gosh can be found in Centrepoint stores in the UAE.
Do you recommend any other drugstore contour palette?
The Sephora Nuit Kajals were released in Dubai about a month ago with huge hype so I was really excited to buy these and try them. I bought 2 colors- Fascinating Black and Charming Brown.
Firstly, I love eye pencils that don’t need sharpening because I am lazy like that😁😶. YSL did release a similar design for a kajal previously which I didn’t like much and which I also hated because the cap would always slip off. Fortunately , these Sephora Kajals dont have that problem .
I put these eye pencils to the test by applying it early morning before work- on the eyelid as well as waterline. I then use a smudger brush and smudge it slightly to create a subtle smokey effect and to make it look less harsh.
Unfortunately , these do not last well at all on the eyes, especially on the waterline. By afternoon , it looks patchy (bear in mind I don’t have oily eyelids) . Also, if you love very dark black eye pencils, then this isn’t for you. The brown color lasts even less longer for me.
It’s been a while since I posted anything about makeup but anything Charlotte Tilbury deserves a mention (or blog post) 😀.
Her Hot Lips lipsticks were too hard to resist especially since they were in collaboration with certain celebrities. It was so hard for me to choose but I went for 3 different pink shades as I find pink toned lipsticks suit my skintone better.
The first one is Liv it Up named after Liv Tyler. It’s a pale pink shade which is hydrating and has a satin finish. I was worried that this particular shade would not suit me because it’s too pale but I quite like it and is perfect for wearing to the office as it is really subtle. Love it.

The second pink shade I chose was Bosworth’s Beauty which is a bright pink shade and this is my favorite of the 3. Named after Kate Bosworth, this has a matte finish but Charlotte Tilbury takes matte to a whole new level. I am yet to come across a matte lipstick that matches her formula which is hydrating yet has a matte finish. It doesn’t tug at the lips at all.

The third pink shade I went for is a fuschia color called Electric Poppy named after Poppy Delevingne. This also has a matte finish and is extremely flattering on the lips.

I bought my lipsticks online from Beautylish and each costs $32.
Has anyone bought any of the lipsticks from this collection? What’s your favorite color?
Hello everyone. I know this BB cream is quite old and was released a while back but since I heard one particular blogger I admire rave about this, I decided to give it a try.
Firstly, the Vichy Idealia BB Cream contains SPF 25 which is great as I just use this after my moisturizer and I’m good to go, eliminating the need to use a separate spf. It is also paraben-free which is a plus point. It’s quite scented so for those of you are bothered by scented products, you might not like this.
This BB cream applies smoothly, feels hydrating and is a beautiful texture (not too thick and perfect for all skin types). As you will see from the swatch below, it gives a beautiful, natural glow and what I noticed is that it photographs beautifully. It does not really require to be topped up with a powder, however I do need a touch of powder on my t-zone after about 5 or 6 hours of wear.
I have been using it every single day for work ever since I bought it and I love it. Although it is a drugstore brand, it is not too cheap. I bought it for Dhs 170 from Boots. Unfortunately, it comes in only 2 shades- Light and Medium. I got the Medium shade which fortunately matches my skin tone perfectly.
Have any of you tried this BB cream? What are your thoughts? What is your favorite BB/CC cream?
If there is one makeup item I absolutely cannot live without, then it definitely is a black eye pencil. I have literally tried every brand out there in search of the ‘blackest’ and smudge free eye pencil. I usually find that drugstore eye pencils are the best.
I have come to love 4 brands which I found to be the darkest and does not smudge on my eyes. Of course this is my opinion, and if you guys have any other recommendations then do let me know:)
1. Sleek Eau La La liner in Noir
2. Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl in Black
3. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion
4. Kiko Everlasting Kajal in 01
After taking one look at the glamorous Christian Louboutin lipsticks, I knew I had to get my hands on at least one (or two).
The lipsticks come in 3 formulations. One of the shades I bought is called Ronron which is a silky satin formula. This is a gorgeous purple shade which I am so glad I chose because I don’t own any lipstick in a similar shade.
I found it extremely flattering on me, very wearable and not too daring a colour. The pigmentation is amazing and it feels so moisturising on the lips and is longlasting and not drying.
Look out for my next blog post with the second CL lipstick I bought in a tdf colour.
Would love to know if any of my readers took the plunge and bought these lipsticks and in which shade.
I ordered mine online from the Saks Fifth Avenue website for AED 355 with free shipping. Unfortunately, it is sold for almost AED 100 more here in Dubai.
