Empties Part 1- Cleansers

Hello friends. If you wish to know what products I use in my daily routine that gives me near perfect skin, then my next few posts are a must read😊.

I have loads of products I have used up and I have decided to divide them into categories and will be showing you my empties in parts.

The first part contains all my cleansers that I have used up, be it morning cleansers, night cleansers / balms, makeup removers, etc.

The Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm and the Pixi Nourishing Cleansing Balm are both essentially the same and I love both. Pixi is way cheaper of course so if you are on a budget, then this is definitely close to the amazingness that is Emma Hardie. (Ready my review here pixi nourishing cleansing balm review) They are used at night as a second cleanse and I wipe off with a face towel. Both can be found online at www.cultbeauty.co.uk

The MV Organics Gentle Face Cleanser is my first MV Organics product. I decided to try this brand because my sister raves about it. I used this cleanser in the morning and it is so gentle and does not dry the skin.

I have reviewed the Vichy Purete Thermale before (Vichy Purete Thermale Review)  and it’s my favorite eye make-up remover and already almost finished with my second bottle.

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel and the Tata Harper Purifying Cleanser are both amazing morning cleansers. Out of the 2 however, I would pick Oskia as my personal preference is a gel cleanser. Both have been repurchased several times. Both can be found on www.cultbeauty.co.uk.

And last but not least, I have lost count of how many bottles of the Body Shop Chamomile Oil cleanser I have used and will continue using. I use it to remove my makeup every single night as a first cleanse.

Read about my holy grail cleansers which I blogged about before on empties-my-holy-grail-cleansers

Stay tuned for more Empties post and please comment if you want me to post about anything in particular or any skincare review.

Vichy Purete Thermale waterproof eye make-up remover- Review

When I have heavy eye makeup on, I make sure I take it all off using a dedicated eye make-up remover before I remove my face make-up using my oil cleansers.

I am onto my second bottle of the Vichy Purete Thermale waterproof eye make-up remover and it is brilliant. I have always hated waterproof eye make-up remover- in general because they are so oily and hated the feeling on my eyes. This one is relatively lighter, and takes everything off with 1 or 2 swipes of a cotton wool. It also doesn’t sting my eyes.

Boots usually has amazing offers which is when I stock up and this is an excellent alternative to other more expensive eye make-up removers in the market.

Anyone a fan of the Vichy Purete Thermale? What products do you use to remove your eye make-up?

Retinol- the magic ingredient for perfect skin

Hi everybody! All those who personally  know me or have been following me in social media know how skincare obsessed I am. I have always kept myself updated on latest skincare brands and through trial and error have worked out what works best on me.

For about a year now, I have started incorporating retinol into my skincare routine (all thanks to Caroline Hirons). Once we cross the age of 30, we need to take extra care of our skin and retinol is the answer. For those who are not sure about what is retinol and what it’s benefits are- Retinol,  or Vitamin A is an anti oxidant and the answer to fighting wrinkles and it’s also anti-aging therefore,  it is best for mature skin and in my opinion, not really necessary for people in their 20s. Retinol can also shrink pore size caused by clogging or sun damage (not genetic ones). It does not have to be used every single day. Every alternate day is sufficient but it has to be follow by spf the following morning (and every morning of course).

My first foray into the usage of retinol is with Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil. I use it after every 2 nights, right after double cleansing my skin. This oil is fabulous. I have been using it for about a year now,  straight after I stopped breastfeeding my child (avoid using any retinol products while pregnant or breastfeeding). My skin has never looked better. It has become virtually poreless with no pigmentation and looks so even-toned. My skin (especially the morning after application) looks so plump and radiant.

Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil costs a bomb (£85 for 30ml of product)  and can be purchased from Space NK or Cult Beauty websites. It lasts extremely long though,  and is worth every penny for the benefits it gives. Another costlier alternative is the Zelens Vitamin A treatment drops which costs a whopping £115 for 30ml of product.

Disclaimer: This review is entirely based on my experience with Sunday Riley Luna. Please do sufficient research at your end before using any retinol based product especially if your skin is not accustomed to such products.

How to get rid of breakouts!

Breakouts on the face are the worst thing that can happen to a girl, especially if they ‘magically’ appear the day of a big event. Been there done that countless times.

Well, I have got just the product which will rescue you out of that situation (if done the right time and way of course). Ever since I incorporated acid toning to my daily skincare routine, I have barely experienced any breakouts. (Thank you Caroline Hirons)👍.

The weather in Dubai has been pretty gross lately with lots of sandy wind which really doesn’t do my skin any favors. I had suddenly discovered 2 major breakouts on my forehead to my dismay. I took out my favorite Alpha H glycolic acid treatment (which I use every alternate night as a toner). I soaked a piece of cotton wool with it and applied directly on the breakout and kept it there for a few seconds. I kept doing this every 2 hours or so or whenever I remembered throughout the day and the next. The breakouts did not get worse, became less red and disappeared without leaving a scar in about 2 days. It was pure magic. Make sure you keep your face moisturized with a face oil though, as all that toning can be drying.

The trick is to get the breakout in its beginning stage otherwise I am not sure how effective the process would be.

I purchase my Alpha H from Cult Beauty  and other alternatives are the Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner and the Pixi Glow Tonic. Make sure you use your Spf the morning after and every morning of course for extra protection.

Pixi skintreats Nourishing Cleansing Balm- review

Hello my beautiful friends.

Lately, I have been trying to get my hands on as much skincare products as possible from Pixi skintreats. I find them highly affordable and after being so well known for Glow Tonic,  I knew the rest of the products would be worth trying.

I got my hands on the Nourishing Cleansing Balm as I was curious to know how it would compare to my favorite cleansing balm of all time- the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm.

Firstly, this smells lovely and pleasant. It is a thick texture due to it containing Shea Butter. I use it as a second cleanse every evening and just like the Emma Hardie one, the balm turns to oil once applied. I then remove it with a wet flannel.

This is definitely much thicker than Emma Hardie so I make sure I use a small amount and I also ensure I properly take it all off using the flannel. This is best for dry/dehydrated skin due to its Shea Butter content. If you have oily skin and don’t want a thick buttery balm on your face, then definitely avoid this. I have combination skin but this worked fine for me and didn’t give me any breakouts.

While I do love this is as a more affordable option,  I still prefer my Emma Hardie cleansing balm because it is lighter (and oilier) and is much easier to remove.

If you are on a budget and if your skin can take Shea Butter,  then definitely go for the Pixi Nourishing Cleansing Balm.

I bought mine from Cult Beauty and it costs £18 compared to the much more expensive Emma Hardie moringa cleansing balm which costs £38 for the normal sized jar. (I am definitely going to keep the Emma Hardie one as a treat maybe once a year).

Has anyone tried this?  What ate your thoughts? What is your favorite Pixi skincare product?

Empties- my holy grail cleansers

image

I surprisingly finished all my favorite cleansers around the same time. Thank God I always have back ups for these.
These are repurchases and my skincare staples at the moment and nothing comes close at the moment:)

The Body Shop Camomile cleansing oil is my favorite first cleanse which I use to dissolve all makeup every night. It is usually makeup that I wear to work. It also smells so nice and pleasant and is easy to wash off.

After Body Shop,  I usually go for the Emma Hardie cleansing balm for a second cleanse to ensure my skin is really clean and there is no traces of makeup/dirt left. I have spoken about this product countless times and it is a cult product. It is expensive but so worth it. Once you are hooked,  there is no looking back.

Another pricey cleanser I have been hooked on for my morning cleanse is the Tata Harper purifying cleanser. It leaves my skin nice and clean every morning and smells luxurious. It is also non foaming which is always the best option for a cleanser.

What are your holy grail cleansers?  Which skincare product have you finished and loved lately?

Tata Harper- review of the brand

Hello darlings.

I have always spoken about my love for Zelens skincare especially on my Instagram page (@naysdesires ) as so far none of their products have disappointed me.

Another skincare brand I have been loving lately and using alongside my Zelens products is Tata Harper.

First of all, who can resist the lush green, glass packaging? It looks so attractive.

Although extremely pricey just like Zelens, Tata Harper products are “100% natural and nontoxic”.

I have bought their Purifying Cleanser which I use as a morning cleanser; their Regenerating Cleanser which I use as a second cleanse once a week; Rejuvenating Serum which can be used both morning and night; Replenishing Nutrient Complex which I use as a serum in the night if I need something more for my skin and finally the Resurfacing Mask. All these products did not disappoint and I am already on my third bottle of the Replenishing Nutrient Complex which is definitely my favorite.

If you are someone who does not mind investing in your skin, and are looking for something natural, then definitely try out Tata Harper. I buy the products online from Cult Beauty.

If you are already a fan of Tata Harper skincare, what else do you recommend and what is your favorite product? Would love to see your comments.
