Empties Part 1- Cleansers

Hello friends. If you wish to know what products I use in my daily routine that gives me near perfect skin, then my next few posts are a must read😊.

I have loads of products I have used up and I have decided to divide them into categories and will be showing you my empties in parts.

The first part contains all my cleansers that I have used up, be it morning cleansers, night cleansers / balms, makeup removers, etc.

The Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm and the Pixi Nourishing Cleansing Balm are both essentially the same and I love both. Pixi is way cheaper of course so if you are on a budget, then this is definitely close to the amazingness that is Emma Hardie. (Ready my review here pixi nourishing cleansing balm review) They are used at night as a second cleanse and I wipe off with a face towel. Both can be found online at www.cultbeauty.co.uk

The MV Organics Gentle Face Cleanser is my first MV Organics product. I decided to try this brand because my sister raves about it. I used this cleanser in the morning and it is so gentle and does not dry the skin.

I have reviewed the Vichy Purete Thermale before (Vichy Purete Thermale Review)  and it’s my favorite eye make-up remover and already almost finished with my second bottle.

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel and the Tata Harper Purifying Cleanser are both amazing morning cleansers. Out of the 2 however, I would pick Oskia as my personal preference is a gel cleanser. Both have been repurchased several times. Both can be found on www.cultbeauty.co.uk.

And last but not least, I have lost count of how many bottles of the Body Shop Chamomile Oil cleanser I have used and will continue using. I use it to remove my makeup every single night as a first cleanse.

Stay tuned for more Empties post and please comment if you want me to post about anything in particular or any skincare review.

Pixi skintreats Nourishing Cleansing Balm- review

Hello my beautiful friends.

Lately, I have been trying to get my hands on as much skincare products as possible from Pixi skintreats. I find them highly affordable and after being so well known for Glow Tonic,  I knew the rest of the products would be worth trying.

I got my hands on the Nourishing Cleansing Balm as I was curious to know how it would compare to my favorite cleansing balm of all time- the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm.

Firstly, this smells lovely and pleasant. It is a thick texture due to it containing Shea Butter. I use it as a second cleanse every evening and just like the Emma Hardie one, the balm turns to oil once applied. I then remove it with a wet flannel.

This is definitely much thicker than Emma Hardie so I make sure I use a small amount and I also ensure I properly take it all off using the flannel. This is best for dry/dehydrated skin due to its Shea Butter content. If you have oily skin and don’t want a thick buttery balm on your face, then definitely avoid this. I have combination skin but this worked fine for me and didn’t give me any breakouts.

While I do love this is as a more affordable option,  I still prefer my Emma Hardie cleansing balm because it is lighter (and oilier) and is much easier to remove.

If you are on a budget and if your skin can take Shea Butter,  then definitely go for the Pixi Nourishing Cleansing Balm.

I bought mine from Cult Beauty and it costs £18 compared to the much more expensive Emma Hardie moringa cleansing balm which costs £38 for the normal sized jar. (I am definitely going to keep the Emma Hardie one as a treat maybe once a year).

Has anyone tried this?  What ate your thoughts? What is your favorite Pixi skincare product?

Beauty Haul from Feel Unique

It’s been so long since I did a proper beauty haul from online,  especially from one of my favorite websites- http://www.feelunique.com.

I bought a bunch of stuff which I needed (and some which I just wanted😆) and I can’t wait to share my purchases with you. The best part is I got everything for 20% off.

The Glamoriser detangling dryer brush looks so interesting. This caught my eye because rather than just blow drying my hair, I would also be detangling it simultaneously which definitely makes things easier.

image

I have heard of this brand before but never used it.  It is made of natural ingredients and I love the smell of coconut. Can’t wait to use this on my special pampering days.

image

Nuxe reve de miel lip balm is my absolute favorite and I use it every single night. This is a repurchase since my current one is almost over.

image

If you are following me on Instagram or a regular reader of my blog,  then you would know I am never without my Emma Hardie Moringa cleansing balm. This is a repurchase since my skincare regimen doesn’t exist without this.

I love Real Techniques makeup brushes but I don’t own any from the bold metals collection. This seems like an amazing contouring brush.

image

This was a spur of the moment last minute purchase as I love anything that is leave-in lately for my hair. Can’t wait to see how this fares when applyed on to my hair.

image

I used to use Moroccan Oil on my hair and I quite liked it.  This was a good offer for a bigger 125ml size with a free tote bag and of course with the 20% discount.

Have you tried any of the products I bought? Let me know what you think of my latest haul.

Empties- my holy grail cleansers

image

I surprisingly finished all my favorite cleansers around the same time. Thank God I always have back ups for these.
These are repurchases and my skincare staples at the moment and nothing comes close at the moment:)

The Body Shop Camomile cleansing oil is my favorite first cleanse which I use to dissolve all makeup every night. It is usually makeup that I wear to work. It also smells so nice and pleasant and is easy to wash off.

After Body Shop,  I usually go for the Emma Hardie cleansing balm for a second cleanse to ensure my skin is really clean and there is no traces of makeup/dirt left. I have spoken about this product countless times and it is a cult product. It is expensive but so worth it. Once you are hooked,  there is no looking back.

Another pricey cleanser I have been hooked on for my morning cleanse is the Tata Harper purifying cleanser. It leaves my skin nice and clean every morning and smells luxurious. It is also non foaming which is always the best option for a cleanser.

What are your holy grail cleansers?  Which skincare product have you finished and loved lately?

My cleansing routine- done right!

Hi everyone! I recently kind of got excited to find out that I am doing my cleansing right a la Caroline Hirons aka my skincare guru.
She recently posted a cleansing cheat sheet so I thought I should share my cleansing routine with my lovely followers.

Morning- Nowadays I avoid foaming cleansers like a plague as they make my skin feel stripped. What I currently use in the mornings is the amazing Oskia renaissance cleansing gel which I massage on my dry face, then wet my face a little and massage once again then finally rinse. I ordered this cleanser online from Space NK and I love it.

Night- For all those who follow Caroline Hirons religiously would know that she stresses on double cleansing at night to properly get rid of makeup and SPF and all the dirt that accumulates by night time. Ever since I started double cleansing, my skin has felt and looked cleaner and healthier. I start off by taking off my eye make up using either my Bioderma Micellar water or more recently my Caudalie cleansing water.
After that I use my Nude cleansing oil for face and eyes which properly removes the makeup off my entire face. Then I go in for final cleansing with my favourite cleanser in the whole world which is the Emma Hardie moringa cleansing balm which I take off using a wet flannel and voila- a glowing face that is silky smooth. I bought my Nude and Emma Hardie cleansers from Space NK and Caudalie from Boots in Dubai.

Would love to know what products you all use and swear by as your daily cleanse.

Best of 2014

2014 was an excellent year in terms of skincare discoveries, mostly because of my skincare guru Caroline Hirons. I tried practically everything she recommended and loved everything. I also visited London in April where I went quite overboard in Space NK, Selfridge’s and Boots.

1- In terms of haircare this year, I tried 2 brands- Rahua and Oribe Shampoos and Conditioners. Of the two, my hair definitely loved Oribe better. It’s extremely luxurious, leaves the hair smelling amazing and feeling so soft and bouncy. The packaging is also quite pretty. My husband actually thought the shampoo was a bottle of perfume.

image

2- Frank Coffee Scrub- this is a natural coffee scrub that I discovered online and boy am I glad I did. This stuff is sooo amazing, I can’t get enough. It can be used on the face and body and seriously leaves my skin so extremely smooth and silky. The best part about it? It is so cheap at USD 14.95 and can be ordered online through their website http://www.frankbody.com .

image

3. Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm- this is a cult product loved by Caroline Hirons which in turn is loved by all skincare fanatics like me and I totally understand why. This has completely changed the meaning of cleansing. This is so expensive but I would definitely repurchase when mine is over as it is worth the splurge.

4- May Lindstrom skincare- another natural skincare brand that I am so glad I have discovered is May Lindstrom. They are extremely expensive so I just bought a few of her products for now.

image

5- Wayne Goss face brush set- I have no idea how I survived without these brushes previously. These are my go to brushes at the moment and I really need to invest in the eye set as well. Besides, I love Wayne Goss:)

image

6- Su-man rehydrating toning essence- its very rare to find a toner that does not leave the skin feeling stripped and this is one of them. I love the glass packaging, and it leaves the skin feeling refreshed and hydrated.

image

7- Gosh Cosmetics- Amazing drugstore find. I love their lip lacquers that look like little nail polishes. Their eye pencils and eye-shadow sticks are amazing too. The best product in my opinion is the Boombastic mascara which so easily rivals the high end mascaras out there for a small fraction of the price.

image

8- Charlotte Tilbury- I can’t praise Charlotte Tilbury makeup enough. I mean this lady does no wrong in terms of makeup from her blushes to lipsticks and eye pencils. I can’t get enough. If you haven’t tried any of her products- what are you waiting for?

image

9- Tom Ford brow sculptor- this is one product that I cannot live without at the moment. It makes my brows look so natural and it is so easy to use and lasts very long even with everyday use.

What have been your favourite products in 2014? Please let me know in the comments:)
