The Sephora Nuit Kajals were released in Dubai about a month ago with huge hype so I was really excited to buy these and try them. I bought 2 colors- Fascinating Black and Charming Brown.
Firstly, I love eye pencils that don’t need sharpening because I am lazy like that😁😶. YSL did release a similar design for a kajal previously which I didn’t like much and which I also hated because the cap would always slip off. Fortunately , these Sephora Kajals dont have that problem .
I put these eye pencils to the test by applying it early morning before work- on the eyelid as well as waterline. I then use a smudger brush and smudge it slightly to create a subtle smokey effect and to make it look less harsh.
Unfortunately , these do not last well at all on the eyes, especially on the waterline. By afternoon , it looks patchy (bear in mind I don’t have oily eyelids) . Also, if you love very dark black eye pencils, then this isn’t for you. The brown color lasts even less longer for me.
If there is one makeup item I absolutely cannot live without, then it definitely is a black eye pencil. I have literally tried every brand out there in search of the ‘blackest’ and smudge free eye pencil. I usually find that drugstore eye pencils are the best.
I have come to love 4 brands which I found to be the darkest and does not smudge on my eyes. Of course this is my opinion, and if you guys have any other recommendations then do let me know:)
1. Sleek Eau La La liner in Noir
2. Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl in Black
3. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion
4. Kiko Everlasting Kajal in 01
I just bought the Dolce & Gabbana Intense Khol Eye Crayon in True Black after reading the review from Huda Kattans beauty blog (Huda Beauty). I always trust her reviews on products that is why I went ahead and purchased this in spite of having a really bad experience with Dolce & Gabbana’s eye pencils that I bought before from an old collection.
The eye pencils from the old collection were not at all smooth when applying and really tugged at the eyelids. It felt like such a chore using them.
However the new khol I bought really took me by surprise. It applied beautifully without tugging and it did not smudge even after about 8 hours of wear which is superb. I tried it both on my waterline and on the eyelid and if you like dark black eye khols then this is perfect.
This costs Dhs 100 and is available in four other colors- True White, Peacock, Chocolate and Dahlia. I strongly recommend trying these khols.
Which other color do you think I should try?
